In •district, the incharge of District Office is Excise & Taxation Officer (Assistant Collector). There are other officials and working staff which includes: The Assistant Excise & Taxation Officer, Inspectors, Constables and clerical staff. It collects following taxes: 

Property tax, motor vehicle registration fee, Token Tax (or Road Tax), Professional Tax, Hotel Tax (Bed Tax), Entertainment Duty, Tobacco Development Cess, Excise Duty (Permit Fee of Denatured 1 Rectified Spirit), Registration of Real Estate Agents, Motor Vehicles Bargain Centres, Audio Video Cassettes Registration.

In the previous year, District Excise & Taxation Office Mansehra has collected Rs.3,56,32,671/-. It is very important to note that 85% of the property tax share goes to the local government, thus the prosperity of the districts also depends on the collection of these taxes.

It has the powers to seize and dispose the illegal vehicles. It has also powers to confiscate & control the trafficking of Narcotics and Drugs.
